The Vienna Public Arts Commission (VPAC) is announcing an open call for artists (both individual artists and artist teams) with interest and professional experience in creating public art and site-specific commissions.

VPAC is requesting submitting your qualifications for exterior public art features to create an art installation to be located on the grounds of the Town of Vienna, Virginia, Community Center.

While there is no specific requirement regarding theme or subject matter, the artworks should have the potential for becoming landmark identifiers for the surrounding community and be suitable for display at a family friendly facility. The commission prefers submissions in clay, metal, or wood that would enhance the appearance of a brick enclosure. Painted murals on the brick enclosure will not be accepted.

One winning project will receive $15,000 for artist fees and fabrication expenses.

Submissions must include:

  • Artist resume including biography, educational background, and exhibition record

  • Images of installed work projects
